School Classrooms, Camps, Children’s Hospitals, Day Care Centers,
Senior Center, Fairs and Festivals benefit from visits by CoE’s
Bug
Wranglers and Arthropod Ambassadors (animals with external skeletons
and jointed legs that include insects, arachnids, and myriapods)
who
help bring positive information from the world of the winged and
crawling creatures.
Live
Hissing Cockroaches from Madagascar, Darkling Beetles from the
woods of California, Walking Sticks from Asia, Tarantulas from our
desert Southwest region, and Giant African Millipedes bring messages
of the importance of biodiversity, and the human behaviors needed to
secure biodiversity’s richness for future generations.
Visits
are $175 for a one hour demonstration with hands-on activities for
up to 30 participants. A second consecutive demonstration at the same
location is $75. Complimentary curriculum for preschool through 8th
grade teaches language arts, math and science.
Birthday
Parties for up to 20 participants (ages 3 – 13) Available
for a suggested donation of $225, these one hour long
adventures are informative, creative and fun. An added benefit is that
the donation sponsors part of a BugMobile visit to a classroom that
could not otherwise afford the BugMobile, making at least $50 of your
birthday party fee a tax-deductible donation.
